During to the on-going coronavirus pandemic, the 2020 Curfew Run has been postponed to Wednesday 7 July 2021 (tbc)
and online entry is now open at www.runbritain.com/races
However, please note that entry for the traditional 8 pm Curfew Run is listed below that of the 7.30 pm Curfew Fun Run so PLEASE ENSURE WHEN ENTERING THAT YOU SELECT THE RIGHT EVENT - THANK YOU !
The course has been officially measured by UK Athletics at 1.2861 miles (Certificate No 17/168). Runners start on the historic Elizabethan walls just above the Barracks, The Parade, Berwick-upon-Tweed, then loop around the town walls to finish back at the starting point. The aim of the race is to beat the time it takes the Curfew Bell to toll - 13 minutes.
The Curfew Fun Run kicks off proceedings at 7.30 pm. This is "fun for all the family" and aimed specifically at young children who wish to run either on their own or with their parents (please note that all children under 8 must run with an adult who must also enter the race), families and adult fun runners. Entry for the Curfew Fun Run is either online (closing date Sunday 1 July) or on the night from 6 pm outside the Barracks; however, due to high demand, entry on the night is likely to be very limited. Entry costs £3 for children, £6 for adults. There is a race limit of 175 runners. RunBritain Race Licence No : 2019-36135
The traditional Curfew Run follows at 8 pm. This is for runners aged 13 years and over on the day. Entry is online only and costs £6 (closing date Sunday 7 July) – there will be absolutely no entry on the night for this race. There is a race limit of 150 runners. RunBritain Race Licence No : 2019-36135
Numbers for online entries will be available to collect on the night from the Registration Desk outside the Barracks from 6 pm onwards.
Please note that in the interests of preserving the ethos and integrity of the Curfew Fun Run ("Fun for all the Family"), whilst there will be a time recorded for the first boy and first girl, there will be NO other times recorded.
Chip-timing by KitST will, however, record the times for all runners in the Curfew Run at 8 pm PROVIDING RUNNERS AGREE TO SHARING RACE TIMES ETC WHEN THEY ENTER BY TICKING THE RELEVANT BOX (under GDPR we are not allowed - so will not be able - to list a time for any runner who does not tick that box !)
