Trial Period
However, we appreciate that joining is a big commitment so we offer prospective members a trial period whereby you pay £1 per week for training for a few weeks. Thereafter, assuming we are a “good fit”, we ask that you then join the club - it obviously works out much cheaper to take out membership than to pay £1 per week on an on-going basis.
Benefits of Membership ...
Our motto is Fitness, Fun and Friendship and we foster this ethos through a variety of social events. In the spring and summer months we organise a monthly Breakfast Run. This rotates round the Eastern Borders and North Northumberland and takes place, generally, on the first Sunday of the month (April to September) at a different venue each time; it is very much a social run followed, as it is, by coffee and bacon rolls at a local hostelry. In addition every September we hold a Summer Social at which we award club trophies and prizes and enjoy each other's company over a buffet and a few drinks - this is definitely a family affair as members are encouraged to bring their partner and children. Finally, in December we have a club Christmas meal-out. Other ad hoc social events are also organised from time-to-time, for example after the cross-country season. Members are also welcome to join RunDuns and Eye Run at their sessions – please ask Caroline for details.
Over and above training, the coaching team can assist with training plans plus provide advice relating to running, nutrition, injury prevention etc – speak to Caroline in the first instance.
